Resettable Fuse PPTC

Resettables - or PPTC (Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient) protect the circuit by a sudden increase in internal resistance in the event of a fault. The high resistance limits the current to a safe value. After switching off the voltage and eliminating the fault, the components automatically reset and the device is ready for use again. From the smallest 0603 to the 2920 design, we offer the most comprehensive product portfolio in top-mount SMD resettables.
Holding currents are available from 40 mA to 3 A - for higher holding currents please contact us. The maximum rated voltages vary between 6 V and 60 V, depending on the design and current level. Since the components also change to the protective state due to the effect of temperature, they are ideal for protecting modern battery packs.

Applications
Since the components also change to the protective state when exposed to temperature, they are ideal for protecting modern battery packs. Also used in USB hubs, ports and peripherals, set-top-box and HDMI, game console port protection, motherboard USB and IEEE 1394 protection, optical drives and general electronics.
