Thermostat for printed heating elements
The thermostat 161 971 is suitable for controlling or monitoring a fixed temperature. It is designed especially for use on printed heating elements. Typical applications are e.g. cooking equipment, water heaters or flat electric heaters.
A bimetal disc is used as a temperature sensing element. The disc is pressed directly against the meander of the printed heating element or other heat source and can therefore react quickly to changes in temperature. As soon as the preset temperature is reached, the bimetal disc operates and opens the electrical contact. On cooling the disc snaps back into the original position, closing the circuit again.
The thermostat is encased in a plastic housing. It is suited to switch-off temperatures up to max. 140 °C, temperatures at the fixing bracket can reach up to max. 180 °C.
